3.4. Combining two programs

It’s easy to add an existing program (set of steps) at the end of a different program.

Before you begin

Create the two programs you want to combine before proceeding.

About this task

Use this procedure to facilitate building a program that includes repetition by adding the steps from ‘file 2’ at the end of ‘file 1’.

Procedure

  1. If the system and laptop are not already connected and if the robot is not already homed:
    1. From the main button bar, click the Connect button. Then click OK on the success prompt.
    2. From the main button bar, click the Home button.
  2. From the main menu, select File → Add.
    The Add Files dialog displays.

  3. Click the 1st File button.
  4. Select the file that will become the initial steps of the program.
  5. Click the 2nd File button.
  6. Select the file that will become the final steps of the program.
  7. Click the Save As button, enter a name for the new program, and then click the OK button.
  8. At the prompt, confirm that you want to proceed if you still want ‘file 2’ added to the end of ‘file 1’.
