UV Curing Materials Adhesive Dispensing Pumps
UV Curable adhesives such as resin, epoxy, and glue are adhesives cured under UV light. Exposure to UV and/or visible light produces strong, flexible encapsulants. Encapsulants are used for bare die, wire bonds, or integrated circuits. Typically, UV curable adhesives are optically clear so sensor arrays inside encapsulant remain visible. UV Curable materials come in dark amber or black syringes to block UV light.
Dispensing pump selection is based on required curing fluid volume. Use our NCM5000 Jetting pump for wire-bond encapsulation and small volumes. For larger encapsulation areas or higher viscosity UV curing material, use our Volumetric PCD Pump.
Achieve excellent Jetting Technology results dispensing small amounts of UV curable resin, epoxy, or glue with our NCM5000 Jetting Pump. During dispensing, the NCM5000 pump dispenses from a constant height of up to 4 mm above component surface. Droplet sizes down to 300 µm (0.3 mm) can be dispensed with UV Curable glues. Because of the reactive component in UV curable materials, use a Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) diaphragm with the NCM5000 pump.
When dispensing larger volumes of UV Curable glues, we recommend the Volumetric PCD pump. Volumetric equates to highly repeatable, air-free encapsulations.
Achieve successful dispense process results with our automated dispense systems and their essential features. Some feature examples:
- fiducial alignment
- surface sensing on multiple levels
- ability to program complex patterns that can be recalled as needed
Compatibility with our full range of dispense pumps and the ability to use up to three pumps in a single process make our systems extremely versatile. A UV light source can be mounted on our platforms for curing resin, epoxy, or glue after dispense. This helps control dispense geometry and eliminates the need for an additional curing system.
We also offer a retrofit kit for the Volumetric PCD Pump Series and NCM5000 Jetting Pump so you can integrate pumps into your platform. Retrofit kits come complete with a controller, interface cables, and mounting hardware.
